Experience report: What if I am no longer sane or suddenly pass away? - Part 2: Execution of the will

You remember the couple Meier from the last experience report, 76 and 74 years old and childless. The July 2023 experience report was about the advance directive, in which Mr. and Mrs. Meier determined who, in the event of their insanity, should take over personal care, representation in legal dealings and who should take over asset management during this period.

And what happens when death occurs?

Mr. and Mrs. Meier each have 2 siblings who are also of roughly the same age as themselves. The couple owns a large property, vehicles, jewelry, art and a large portfolio of securities.

The Meier's have clearly regulated their estate in their inheritance contract. If one spouse predeceases the other, the other receives all assets. If both pass away, the inheritance contract specifies exactly how the estate is to be distributed to the siblings, nieces and nephews.

But who will ensure that the assets are distributed correctly and fairly? This is where we at Agira come in.
